EUROVISION -

MUSEUMS EXHIBITING EUROPE (EMEE)

The National Museum of Archeology (MNA), representing the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, was the Portuguese partner that integrated the European consortium of the Eurovision project that ran between 2012-2016.

Eurovision - Museums Exhibiting Europe (EMEE), funded by the Culture Program of the European Union, presents the project e-book, edited by this consortium. The group of institutions (including MNA) was led by the University of Augsburgo in Germany. The National Museum of History in Sofia, Bulgaria, the National Museum of Contemporary History in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the University of Rome Tre, in Italy, the Paris-East Créteil-ESPE University in France. In addition to the ateliers Brückner, Stuttgart, Germany and monochrom Art - Artists Association, Vienna, Austria.

The e-book is organized into five chapters presenting the concept and objectives of the project, the main results in terms of content production, practical examples of application of the main concepts, the production of audiovisual resources and, finally, a summary of the Project in its varied capacities.

In addition to the usual functionalities of an e-book, This tools allows the use of augmented reality and the access to videos and galleries of images. Active links to the key concepts of the project are also provided for users to fully understand the concepts applied.

This project published 5 toolkits and presented 33 exemplary units and performed hundreds of activities related to EuroVision Labs, including exhibitions that registered more than 93 thousand visitors. It stimulated a European competition for young Scenographers (YSC) resulting in an exhibition that covered more than 7,500 km in Europe and was presented in 8 countries. In the scope of the project were published documents with the total of 1300 pages of contents.

Education Service and Cultural Extension Department

The Education Service and Cultural Extension Department, with the support of the Museum’s Group of Friends, develops and promotes guided tours to the permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as educative - theme games and learning workshops.
